Do you know what an Earth stone is?

You know the world is a magical place when mother earth grows her own jewellery.

When the Earth reaches its natural reshaping geological phase of earthquakes, which is produced by tectonic plates moving underneath each other, new continental crust (new land) is created and chains of volcanoes form. During this process, minerals are forced together under great pressure and heat, and metamorphose into different minerals, sometimes without melting. Changes to the Earth’s surface and geological texture is called ‘metamorphism’. Many minerals form beautiful crystals and the most compelling gemstones are produced by this activity.

So Mother Nature provided us with a formation called ‘natural stone’. Different cultures around the world discovered practical, and attractive uses for it. Stone became the most beautiful, functional and long lasting building material known to humanity. Greeks used marble to create statues and temples, Egyptians used limestone to build the pyramids, and Romans used stone to build roads, domes and arches.

From the dawn of time, we also know that stones and gemstones (mineral crystals) have been treasured, and were believed to bestow protection and health to the wearer. Ancient Mesopotamia (first human civilizations); Ancient Sumerians, Ancient Egypt, Ancient Greece, Ancient Persians, Ancient Romans, Ancient India, Ancient Chinese, Ancient Japan, Indus Valley civilizations, the Mayan Civilization, the Aztecs and the Incas, these are some of the most powerful civilizations of the ancient world that have used stones and crystals in healing rituals. Since ancient times, crystals have been venerated and used in healing rituals. Even ‘Vikings’ used crystals in healing and as amulets for protecting and motivating warriors.

Mother Earth’s gemstones include; Diamonds, Quartz, Amethyst, Amazonite, Lapis lazuli, Turquoise, Emerald, Topaz, Aquamarine, Citrine, Hematite, Ruby, Moonstone, Labrodorite, Sapphire, Selentite, Jade, Agate, Angelite, Fluorite, Labradorite, Tiger Eye, and so many more. Today, they are used in jewellery (don’t you just love that ‘diamond’ ring!), spa retreats, and can also be found in natural beauty shops. The new-age brings ‘Crystal Therapy’ to be a very popular type of alternative to medicine which gently works on restoring body balance – mind, body and soul.

Crystals and gemstones have properties that facilitate healing. These energies of the Earth are extraordinary. Crystals, rocks and gemstones are Mother Nature's healers. Mother Earth is an electromagnetic being, and so are we. Her frequency is incredibly healing.

Look to Mother Nature for healing and personal growth, energize, restore and strengthen your connection to the Earth. Enliven home or office space with nature’s stones, sit on rocks, meditate on the ground, throw stones at the beach, create a stone or rock pile in your garden, carry gemstones, or wear products of the Earth as jewellery.

Just remember, the next time you see or pick up a stone, rock or gemstone, think about how many structural adjustments occurred in the Earth to form it. Now that’s a ‘wow’ moment!
