The human body is made to m-o-v-e.
Being in our natural environment allows the human body to experience movement as it should be.
Grabbing tree branches, scaling mountains, walking on grass or earthy ground, digging your feet in the sand, swimming in the ocean, rolling down a hill, sliding, jumping, lifting, holding, pushing things out of the way, changing direction when you walk or run, travelling faster or slower, being at rest, squashing, stretching and bending; all these movement sessions (push, pull, lift) enable your body to explore its movement capabilities.
Be a big kid in a playground. Have you ever wondered why kids love playing in a playground or in the park? It’s a replica of the kind of movements you would normally be performing in a natural environment, like a ‘jungle’ - swing, run, walk, climb, roll and jump. These are all pushing, pulling and lifting motions, conditioning the body’s joints and muscles.
Enjoy a change in your work out environment by being outdoors in nature more, but also keep practising everyday activities (sitting, getting up, bending to pick things up, cleaning, cooking, etc.) for body conditioning. Learn to exercise your joints with more flex, and extend your muscles through regular outdoor activities on earthy grounds or simply evoke the breeziness of the beach (coastal vibes).
